Kristen Bell celebrated her 30th birthday yesterday!

Yes, the pint-sized 'Veronica Mars' and 'Heroes' star is the big 3-0, despite often getting mistaken for a teenager.

To celebrate the actress who gave us the wonderfully sassy VMars, here are 30 reasons why Ms. Bell has cemented herself in pop culture and our hearts. From projects to quotes, it's all here.

1. She loves to eat at Big Boy. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Bell made her love of the restaurant chain known. "I go there a lot," Bell said. "I crave Midwestern food and atmosphere - there's no bulls--t. Sometimes when I know I'm being watched or judged, it creates a scary sense of insecurity that I didn't used to have [before becoming famous]. But none of that exists at Big Boy."

2. Bell is using her birthday for good. For her birthday, she's asking fans to donate to one of the many charities she supports. This year, she set a goal of $100,000 for Charity:Water, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing clean drinking water to people in developing nations. Check out her page here.

3. She gave up eating meat at the age of 11. Bell has been named one of the world's sexiest vegetarians by animal rights organization PETA, but she's also smart about her vegetarianism. "My mom was a nurse, and when I stopped eating meat she made me learn how to do it in a healthy way," Bell told Women's Health. "It's not just protein you might lose out on; it's magnesium and zinc and other things animals provide. I try to eat more fresh foods than processed ones, and the grainiest bread possible."

4. 'Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical.' Bell starred in the Off-Broadway production of 'Reefer Madness' and reprised the role for the movie. She's got musical chops, see below.

Alona Tal recently appeared in an episode of Bravo's Leverage. In an interview with If Magazine, the actress talked about her starring role and her stint on Supernatural:

The LEVERAGE crew explores all walks of life as it seeks to help those who have been cheated and to punish the cheaters. On sunday night's episode “The Studio Job” (airing 9/8c on TNT) actress Alona Tal (SUPERNATURAL) plays as aspiring country singer/songwriter Kaye Lynn, who is aided by the gang, especially Christian Kane’s Eliot, when she tangles with an unscrupulous music producer played by John Schneider (SMALLVILLE, THE DUKES OF HAZZARD).

Tal, who looks and sounds like the all-American girl despite being born and raised in Israel, talks exclusively to us about her LEVERAGE gig and working with Christian Kane.


iF MAGAZINE: What is your character Kaye Lynn like in the LEVERAGE episode “The Studio Job”?

ALONA TAL: She’s an aspiring country songwriter/singer who’s struggling for her break and she’s the quintessential talented unknown, starving for the art and gets into some trouble. [The Leverage team] come and assist.

iF: In real life, you’re a singer who has performed with Wyclef Jean …

TAL: Here’s how I look at it. I enjoy singing, I’m learning to play instruments, it’s an integral part of my life. But to call myself a “singer,” I feel like I’m not to that level yet. I hope to be able to call myself a singer/creator in the next couple years. I’m learning guitar now and piano. I’ve actually played piano for awhile, but I’m really getting into it now. And guitar I’ve actually picked up a year and a half ago. The point is to really control the chords, because I have a good ear, where I can break down songs if I really sit with it, but I won’t necessarily know what the chord is. I just go, “This is right, this sounds right, this is what it is.” But I decided I wanted to be able to go, “Hmm, that’s an F, that’s a G.” It’s a language, and I’m learning the language so I can just do that.

iF: Do you play in the episode?

TAL: No, I don’t. I have to teach [Christian Kane’s character] Eliot one or two chords, which is so not what that scene is about, so the teaching is not really what’s really happening in that scene.

Kristen tells us that she’s over the moon about marrying BF Dax Shepard – and equally as excited to have a BFF going through the same thing!
What’s the best part about planning your wedding? Having a partner in crime, says Kristen Bell. The When in Rome starlet is super stoked that she and Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-star Russell Brand are tying the knot at the same time!

“I’m so happy for him, its nice when friends are going through the same thing,” the 29-year-old actress told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at Lexus’ Darker Side of Green event in LA July 8. “It makes things easier and much more fun. We have some good surprises, that’s all I really can say.”

Although Kristen wouldn’t delve into the surprises in store for her upcoming nuptials to BF Dax Shepard or Russell’s rumored fall commitment to singer Katy Perry, she was visibly excited at the prospect of marrying the love of her life. “How can you not be [excited]?” she wondered. “if you aren’t looking forward to it, then something would be wrong!”
