IESB spoke to Kristen Bell and Jason Bateman about Couple's Retreat

Q: How much are you a Type-A control freak?

Jason: I am not very A-Type. I like to just let it go. My wife, on the other hand, is very good about organization and planning and, between the two of us, there's somebody normal, right in between.

Kristen: Cynthia's probably me, on my worst day. If I'm very stressed out, I do like everything to be in order, and it's quite frustrating to see things that are not. But, I don't think I have been her in a long while.

Q: Did the fact that this would be shooting in Bora Bora help attract you to the project?

Jason: Yeah, with me it was a very easy yes. This was something that was born from two of my comedy heroes, Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. It was just a great call to get. The location could've been Laughlin on a bus, and I wouldn't have cared, but it happened to be the most idyllic situation you could ever imagine, literally. If you could just run through all the travel brochures and find the one place you'd want to go, it really would be that resort. We got to stay there for five weeks for free, and got paid to shoot a movie with people that we love.

Kristen: There were no losers on this film. Everybody won.

Most Hollywood actresses would rush to be asked to portray someone younger than their years - but Kristen Bell is excited at finally being asked to play someone her own age.

After coming to fame as a 17-year-old detective in TV series Veronica Mars at 24, the now 29-year-old, who has been visiting Australia for the premiere of her new film Couples Retreat, said she was glad to be seen in a more mature light.

"I was very excited to be cast as my own age for the first time in my life. I think I'm the only actress in Hollywood that is trying to age up."

When Kristen Bell went to exotic Bora Bora to film Couples Retreat, there was one thing she made sure to pack in abundance: snacks.

"I do travel with a lot of snacks," the actress said while promoting the new comedy, due out Oct. 9. "I was concerned about the food in Bora Bora, and so I packed a lot ... I like knowing what I'm eating. I don't like mystery dishes."

Bell says her luggage was stocked with granola bars, Power Bars, Luna Bars and especially butterscotch pudding. "I knew that all I needed was water and a mini-fridge, both of which I had in Bora Bora – in my contract," she laughed. "I made little dishes of pudding, and we had them for dessert."

Bell, 29, shared her tasty treats with costars Jason Bateman, Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Kristin Davis, Malin Akerman and Faizon Love – but only they were "really nice to me," she says.

"She was like the [grocery store]," agreed Bateman. "We all would go by and ask her for little treats and stuff. She was a big hit."

Still, Bell discovered she didn't pack quite enough to make it through the five-week shoot, turning to Bateman's wife, Amanda, for one last taste from home.

"By the end, I had cleared my fridge out and I was literally bribing Amanda to give me [their daughter] Franny's Cheerios," Bell said.
